Lodge Experiences

Do you have clients who want to experience the Yukon’s stunning wilderness up close, but who also want some - or maybe even all - the comforts of home?

Fortunately, we have solutions. The Yukon is home to some incredible lodge experiences. Accessing these wilderness lodges is part of the adventure. Some are easy to get to with airport-to-destination shuttles or a rental car, however the more remote lodge experiences begin with a float plane or boat ride in summer and ski-plane or even dog sled in the winter.

They all offer uniquely Yukon experiences. Guests will have the opportunity to be immersed in nature, to relax and rejuvenate, all while enjoying friendly northern hospitality and personal service. While each lodge offers a unique selection of activities that will appeal to different types of clients, they all afford outstanding hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. Whether your clients want to fish for the big one under the midnight sun or watch northern lights from their own private deck, the perfect wilderness lodge experience awaits.

Several of the Yukon’s lodges can be reached easily by road. The following offer airport shuttle services or clients can rent a vehicle which will allow them to “lodge hop” and incorporate lodge stays into a road touring itinerary.

Located just an hour’s drive south of Whitehorse, on the shores of Tagish Lake, is the Southern Lakes Resort. Guests will stay in traditional log cabins with a modern touch, all located lakeside with uninterrupted views. In the main lodge, the licensed restaurant serves seasonal creations that are inspired by the environment – the lake, boreal forest and Canadian north. Summer activities include hiking, canoeing, fishing charters and guided nature tours. During winter, the resort is the perfect spot for northern lights viewing. By day guests can experience some authentic Yukon winter fun with dog sledding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. If your clients prefer not to drive, the resort can be reached by float/ski plane or private shuttle transfer from Whitehorse.

Just twenty minutes from Whitehorse, the Northern Lights Resort and Spa is one of the Yukon’s most popular lodges. Located near the Yukon River, the modern self-contained log cabins offer views of the surrounding mountains. The cabins are available on a bed and breakfast basis during summer (June to August) and all-inclusive packages during the aurora viewing season (September to April). The lodge offers a spa and wellness area with both Finnish and infrared saunas, gym and relaxation room as well as a massage room.
